If you’ve been looking at composite and thinking, “That’s the deck I want,” you’re in the right place. We’re Manuel and Rob, both carpenters, and Manuel has more than 10 years of experience, and we’ve built every service on this site. A composite deck is one of our favorite jobs, because it’s built to be enjoyed, not maintained. Want the bigger picture on all our decks, from wood to steel? See our deck building page. This page is just about composite and Trex.
Why choose composite decking over wood?
A wood deck looks great the day it’s done. Then the sun, snow and dry wind go to work on it. Composite skips most of that upkeep. Trex says its decking needs no sanding, no staining and no splintering (trex.com, manufacturer claim). For most of our customers, that’s the point. They want summer evenings on the deck, not summer weekends with a stain brush.
When we meet at your house, we’ll talk about color, board style and how you use the space: grilling, kids, dogs, hot tubs or coffee with a view of Pikes Peak. Then we build the deck around that.
Can you put composite decking on a steel frame?
Yes. Our steel-frame decks use galvanized steel framing set on dug concrete pier footings. We only put composite decking on a steel frame, and no treated wood touches the steel frame. Our Broadmoor steel deck, for example, has composite decking with hidden fasteners. We also build with Trex and Armadillo composite decking.
Not sure if you need steel or a standard frame? We’ll walk you through both on site. Want to read up first? See our post on steel deck framing in Colorado Springs.
What can you add to a composite deck?
Railing systems. Railing finishes the deck and frames your view. We’ll help you pick a style that suits your home.
Fencing. We also build composite fences, along with wood and cedar, steel post, chain link and vinyl fences, plus commercial fencing. See all of our services.
Can you replace my old wood deck with composite?
We’ll look at what’s there and talk through a new composite deck, on a galvanized steel frame. We tear out and haul off your old deck. Want to see how the whole build works, step by step, including permits? It’s all on our deck building page.
Where do you build composite decks?
We build composite and Trex decks all over Colorado Springs, including Broadmoor and Old Colorado City. We also cover Fountain, Security-Widefield, Monument, Peyton, Falcon, Black Forest, Woodland Park, Manitou Springs, Green Mountain Falls and Cripple Creek. Out in Falcon or up in Woodland Park? Give us a call. See some of our work in the gallery.
